Hi friends, I’m Kim!

Welcome to my little creative corner! I’m a photographer, wife to my best friend Sean, and mama to our sweet girl, Brooklyn. We live in the beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina area, and I’m truly so glad you’re here.

My passion for photography began on my phone, capturing everyday moments until Sean surprised me with my first DSLR. That spark grew into a full-fledged love for preserving memories, and in July 2019, Kimberly Stickel Photography was born. Since then, I’ve fallen completely in love with the creativity, connection, and storytelling this work brings.

With a degree in education and over 10 years of experience in childcare and early childhood education, I bring a unique strength to my work: I’m especially good with children. I specialize in photography that involves young kids, capturing their genuine personalities, real smiles, and those fleeting in-between moments that parents treasure most. Whether your child is shy, energetic, wiggly, or wild, I know how to make them feel comfortable and have fun.

I also specialize in warm, natural imagery with dreamy, romantic vibes; family minis, engagements, weddings, seniors, events, and product photography. If it involves capturing joy, connection, or emotion, I’m all in.

I’m a West Coast girl who fell in love with the South, a holiday-decorating enthusiast, iced tea devotee (peach snapple is my go-to), oldies music fan, singer and dancer at heart, and a total Disney lover. When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me hanging out on the couch with Sean, Brooklyn, and our two sweet kittens.

Motherhood is my most cherished chapter. Our daughter, Brooklyn, whose name means “to heal broken lands”, lights up our world with her smile and tender spirit. She inspires me daily to slow down, notice the little things, and find beauty in the ordinary.
